✨ Wear NASA's history and JWST future! ✨
To understand what makes this T-Shirt special, we first need to know a little about NASA history and meet James Edwin Webb.
At the moment when John F. Kennedy announced that America was gonna race the Soviets to the moon, NASA, as we know it today, did not exist. It was tiny. Kennedy needed someone to manage the growth of the organization that would land people on the moon and he personally appointed James Webb, who only accepted the concession of great freedom in how he would go to build this new agency.
He had 9 years to develop a loose collection of research centers into a coordinated organization capable of landing humans on the moon. And land they did.
Tho the absolute priority for the agency was the Apollo program, he insisted on building a solid organizational foundation that would make sure NASA would thrive for years to come, even after having accomplished Kennedy's directive. He accomplished this by carrying out other planetary exploration programs like the Mariner and Pioneer missions. He was also always diligent to design processes and workflows that would enable the engineers instead of stifling them.
During this period, NASA was identified by its icon Worm logo.
As a tribute to James Edwin Webb, we designed our interpretation of this Worm logo for the JWST and embroidered it on the smoothes cotton T-Shirt we could find. We combined it with a graphical visualization of the JWST, which is featured on the backside of the shirt.
This exists nowhere else, it's a real insider collectible.
